British R&B star Zayn Malik has unexpectedly dropped a brand new single after it was unfortunately leaked to fans ahead of schedule. The 25-year-old's latest single Don't Matter is a remix collaboration with fellow R&B artist August Alsina, best known for his song I Luv This Sh*t.

Responding to the leak, Malik wrote on Twitter,

"This was not a song I intended to put out, but due to unprofessionalism, has been leaked by someone, and my fans mean more to me than a stupid leak, so here it is for free for you to enjoy before my music drops."

Alsina also responded to the tweet saying, "I'm sending an abundance of love to you! You are my brother, I am yours. I don't know how this happened but way to make lemons into lemonade."

Within minutes of the release fans had the song trending worldwide and led to the singer's website crashing due to an overwhelming number of people accessing the site to download the track.

Despite the unforeseen leak, the former One Direction star has been actively using his Instagram account to promote his musical inspirations which has led fans to speculate the release of his eagerly anticipated second studio album, sooner than they had believed.
